I can't belief that this is the end. Makes me think somehow. It was hard sometimes, but i enjoyed it, i like to thank you all, it was a real pleasure looking at your pictures, and somehow i will miss this.

Day 30, bit late today, sorry, i was looking through my archive hdd, since there where no more pictures for my shoebox feature on my primary hdd, and i discovered tons of pictures there, that where lost or forgotten, i thought that i show you some of them today, 8 to be exact. And i also found the old pictures of my last girlfriend, made me sort of sad, and that's now 2 years in the past, i hope such things are normal. What ever, don't want to drag you good people down. I think i've done good job with my picture today, hope you also like it.

Somehow unbeliveable that it's already been 30 days and that only one day is left, i think i should keep this photo-blog for the future.
Lets start my shoebox frenzy.
(Sorry if it's a bit much today)

1: This is a crow (corvus corax) i have seen at the zoo it's leeching of the food the animals get there, i really like those birds, they always where living close to humans, and are part of many tales, songs and mythology, the crows Hugin and Munin for example where companions of of Odin, i could go on now about Barbarossa and other story's but i think that would be a little bit much.

2. A young lion at the zoo here in nuremberg, isn't he cute? :)

3. guess what... xD I think everyone took a picture like that at least once.

4. A rose. I took this picture on a workshop in tubingen germany, it was very rainy, i'm still happy that my camera survived this.

5. Also from tubingen, i found this on a half-timbered house in the city. Have i mentioned that my ex-girlfriend is from tubingen? I don't visit that city anymore. Ok ok i stop...

6. Airport nuremberg! People that where reading this blog on a regular basis know about that day. :)

7. I think i have never shown that one, i think it went in the trash, i couldn't remember why, but remembered the very instance i started working on it in adobe lightroom today. ;D

1. things first: It is some sort of closeup. I'm as close i can get at the moment.
So, what is this? Just some lame stars? Nope. It's M45, the Pleiades! You can find the wiki article and some better pictures ->here<-
So, what went wrong? I can't use my telescope, i have to adjust the mirror, and the mount is damaged, and there are filters on the sensors of DSLR's that doesn't really allow me to photograph the nebular, that makes the Peiades look so good. How ever i posted a picture at the end of the blog entry, the pleiades are (from the center) to the north east, it's not very good, but at leas proves that i was "close". Please keep in mind that i turned this picture.

About yesterday:
I had the same thought. I think that's where the material gets into the mold, they could remove this, but they don't, maybe for blind people. :)
Kimbo: I think the one here is bigger, and maybe even better, cologne is better known for their carnival, also nuremberg is the birthplace of the "lebkuchen" ->wiki<- which are eaten all over germany during christmas... but i have to admit that we are sort of fighting with cologne over who got the better christmas-market.

I should have cleaned it... damn, now everyone know that i'm a blabbermouth... well... i think it's not like you haven't guessed this by now.
But i finally figured out why there is that little "thing" on the 5-key of nearly every phone, or i think i did.

Yesterdays picture was the base of the desk lamp, which normally is my primary light source. It's made from white plastic, and the base got some slits in it.
Yesterday's shoebox really was taken in the middle of the night, i was in the zoo with some friends, taking pictures, then in the city and had dinner in a nice restaurant, after that we decided to do some night-shots on the airport just before going home. I still want to make my pilots license for ultra-lights on that airport, there are so much nice subjects, and learning there is like a backstage pass, but i just don't have the money.

No problem mate, i also don't write as much comments as i want to, there are just not enough hours in one day, but i'm very happe to hear that you like it! :D

Today's picture from my shoebox, is a picture i took near x-mas on the x-mas market here in nuremberg, it's one of the biggest worldwide, lot of people come here to visit, and i found out that you can determine the country they are coming from by their screams after accidentally hit them in the face with a tripod.

Sort of destroyed today's picture in lightroom, but somehow i just wanted to, i'm sort of bored... maybe. What ever.

Yesterday's picture was the label of a driver CD, it had a barcode printed on it.
I liked the... umh... "relationship" between the white and the green, and the way how the barcode added some nice "texture" and something dark as a contrast.

The otter could have been a very nice picture, one of my best, but the reasons i don't really consider it a keeper is because the focus isn't really where i want it to be, there is no real contrast, it looks a bit "grey" to me, i didn't liked the composition, no matter how i crop it and i took it maybe a split second to soon, i want the top of his head facing the camera, and some other stuff. To much things i don't like, but i still like otters, and i will keep it, even if it's just for me. :) I'm picky with my pictures, wouldn't have shown most of the pictures i submit here anyway, but there are 1 or 2 i like, i personally like my picture for day 10, and like the great ansel adams once said: "Twelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop" i think i should be a little bit more satisfied, on the other hand, i think he haven't been able to take 1000 pictures a day, and somehow that makes the quote worthless in todays world. Some outdoor photography would have been nice, to bad my spine still isn't really fixed according to my doctor.
I think i'm just starting to look for excuses again so i stop here.

I tried to keep my picture simple today.

The bullet i have shown yesterday was found on my property some time ago, i don't know where it comes from, only the shell is left the bullet was fired a long time ago, by who i do not know, it belongs to a small caliber riffle, not to my little BB. :)
Yesterdays shoebox actually was some sort of a hdr, glad you people liked it. :D

Today's shoebox "went into the trash" some time ago it's not that good, but i still keep it, i sort of like otters, very adorable animals. *cuddle*

Quick one today, i'm really groggy today, big lunch, had a hot bath and cleaned the house. :)

I'm sort of satisfied with yesterdays picture, i could have done better with some work in photoshop but i still don't have my license, i love it when ideas develop them self and it just sort of "flows".
Very nice to come up with something different than just another gloomy picture, but still, i only have a lamp, a flashlight and some black paper as a background, i think i have to buy some real backgrounds this year, and maybe a studio light would be great. *dream*
Ice: I would gladly do that if i would become rich, everyone should have a room like that, i believe that a aquarium is something very relaxing and calming.

I think i never have shown today's shoebox before, i took this picture around x-mas 08, normally i don't take pictures like that, but i always like to try new stuff. :)

Day 24, feels like time is running fast, now that it's coming to a end i wish there would be a bit more time left. I think most people should know what today's subject is. I remember the day i got it, we had a bit more money back than, we bought it sort of spontaneous, times have moved on since then. I like my old PS2. :)

Today's shoebox is a picture i took a while back, in the sea life here in nuremberg, the aquarium moved on and they are now in munich as far as i know, but i really liked that glass-tunnel. If i'm becoming rich one day i would have a bedroom like that.

Day 22 - only 9 days left!
Don't get me wrong, i enjoy this most of the time, but it's not always easy when i have a bad day, but i guess you all have the same problem, but big respect here for you people anyway, some of you took one amazing picture after another.

Yesterdays object was a gun!
(Kimbo got it but it's not loaded)
It's just one that runs on compressed air an shoots 4,5mm (.177) pellets. It's not that easy to get a real gun here in germany, you have to take a psychological test, then you have to take a test (oral) which isn't quite that easy and very expansive. if you broken the law before you can forget it, if you have stolen something this can be enough, and you have to prove that you need it, which seems to be a problem in my case, i like to take the test and buy a Steyr HS .50, i always wanted to shoot a .50 BMG, but there are hardly any places where you can fire rounds that big.

Todays shoebox is a bird again! I love birds! :D

Nelson: I guess you are right, to much people seem to take such discussions to a very personal level, if this happens a real discussion is not possible, and the whole thing gets dirty.

Today's picture from the shoebox is relatively new, you might have seen it in the low-key contest 09 some days ago. It got upgraded to a gold-medal yesterday. I made 5. place (i like to say 3. since the first 3 came from 1 person) but i feel a little bit bad about that, since i only got it because they haven't payed for their entry, i'm not complaining, i love to win, but i feel bad for the 2 other persons that took better pictures than i did but where downgraded, i guess those are the rules... My very first entry on W1k was disqualified because my picture was some kb's to big. I guess i just looking for excuses, but it's still is a very nice picture i took there. :) No this doesn't count as negative thought!

Sort of disapointed right now.
Worths Admins acting like children when it comes to political themes in the forum. Sure, political discussions are trouble but those topics are very important, and if someone really don't want to read about it then they always can read something else in another topic. I just don't get why some people acting the way they do. If i have missed some events concerning this please feel free to tell me.
I like w1k, nice community - but thinks like that really make me think. Ok, no more negative thoughts in this blog for the next 5 days, lets see if i can make it. (i doubt it but it's worth a try)

Here is my picture for day 18,
this is a ring my mother got from a "friend" back in the late 70's it's from the US Army, but i don't really know anything about it. *headscratch*

Yesterdays picture was the backside of a calender, i don't think i have to tell you guys anything about the rule of thirds, but you can always ask wikipedia. :)

I thought about entering the rules of thirds contest but i'm not going to, so i made this my topic today, but no time, i'm invited for lunch tomorrow and it's 3am here already, good thing i choose worth time. I have to start again "building" my pictures an not just shooting something in the last second...

Jesterdays picture really was dental floss. Jesterday i thought about working the blue lable in somehow, but i didn't and didn't croped it out, sorry.

Todays shoebox picture dates waaaaaaay back, i didn't even had a DSLR back than, i took this picture with my first digital compact camera, it's not my best, but i like it, it also is one of my first animal-pictures. :)

I catch this little bird some meters away from my window this morning,
finally some birds discovered the balls i placed there. I know, my topic is close up, but this is as close i can get at the moment. I'm still doomed to stay inside, but at least i will be able to watch some birds in the next days. :D
I think i mentioned before that i love animals. :)

There is not much to say about yesterdays subject. It's a very nice polished stone with 2 lizards on it, i got this for my barfday yesterday. ^^

Sorry, today another very quick one, i'm a bit exhausted, lot of calls and stuff, i also went on a shopping-spree today. :D
Shopping is great against stress, to bad i only can do this once a year.

Tomorrow i expect another quick one, i got some new parts for my pc, the old ones will be cleaned, and also i have to go to my 2. acupuncture.

It just was a crappy day, i'm in some sort of a midlife crisis since last year, but i hope this is over soon. :)

Today's shoebox picture is one i have shown a lot, not my most "successful" picture, most people don't like it that much, but i do. :)
It's a picture about photography, can't get anymore basic, there even isn't a real subject, but turned out quite nice in my opinion, i love sort of abstract looking stuff, i once was very good at stuff like that, but then i focused more on animals which is much more satisfying and rewarding (i love animals), but this is something where i can show a bit more creativity.

Today's picture is not exactly a masterpiece but better than yesterday i guess, it's not a big achievement to take a better picture than yesterday, but at least something. :)

Yesterdays photo was just a light on the ceiling, nothing special. If you wasn't able to view it like Andromeda you can try again. I uploaded it to directupload.net, their servers got hick ups sometimes, but i don't waste space on picasa, but trust me, it's not worth the space it's stored on.

About Yesterday and stuff:
Sorry about that.
It's just that i had to see the doctor today, it's normal for me that i go a bit nuts before things like that, but i feel better now.
I had this pain in the back for almost 3 or 4 months now and i should have gone to the doctor sooner,
now i have to go there 10 times over the next 6 weeks, i also have to take pills 3 times a day but he also prescribed me hot baths with rosemary can't wait to do that! :D
Just to explain why: My spine got some sort of a shift to the left also 2 dorsal vertebras (do you really call them that way?) where touching which seems to be bad, and other stuff. Took the doctor 2 hours to fix that. but i still can't go outside till at least thursday, and that really pisses me off! Tomorrow is that "special" (-_-) day and it's became sort of a tradition that i'm outside in the forest on that morning, but there is no way i can walk hours and hours with 10kilos of camera equipment on my back, so expect more indoore stuff, walking is painful enough these days anyway.
But i decidet to show some stuff from my shoebox in the next days.
Bit much today, sorry, hope i haven't scared you away.
Today from my shoebox - a squirrel! Taken on a cemetary near my hometown, it's more like a very peaceful park with tombstones than a cemtary, really nice place with lot of cute critters. :)

Today we have some spray-paint. :)
My mother decidet that she wanted to view a movie
in my studio (aka living room)
so i had to do this without tripod
and only with my monitor as a light source,
but turned out sort of ok-ish in my opinion,
at least something brighter and more colorful today.
/me likes colors and bright stuff :)

About yesterday:
Kimbomac actually was right, it was a ->Physalis<-
they taste great, try them!

Other stuff:
As you know i was trying to Download Windows 7,

I'm still downloading and will continue doing this for the next 5 hours.

Another quick one today,
the Windows 7 public beta is about to be released
and i don't want to miss it since the downloads are limited.
Sort of gloomy picture today,
but i hope it's not to bad. :)

Yesterday's subject was a heart rate monitore and controll thing
on a home-trainer thing.
I hate it if i don't know how something is called in english,
but i guess someone will find that amusing. :)

Thank you all for the comments yesterday,
just hurts a bit when it's squished against the camera display,
but i think i'm fine. :)
Bad luck seems to follow me around the days before "that special (-_-) day" anyway,
for example: My guitar tuner "gave up" today,

Sort of a snapshot today, sry.
I wanted to take a picture of my guitar again,
but as i took my guitar of it's stand next to my chair,
the (solid) body of my guitar
and my nose somehow meet in the middle.
*crack*
Sounds a bit like when you break a pencil in the middle.
Now my nose is looking even more crooked than before.
Maybe we can team up today's object and Apple-Face,
they could be twins. O.o

What was yesterdays object?
It was a vessel you burn frankincense in,
don't really know the exact name.
Andromeda actually looked at it in the right way,
i really had some sort of a UFO-Thing in mind when shooting,
sort of inspired by Kimbomac's comment on day 6.
Since i haven't told you:
The object on Day 6 was a CD by Joe Satriani,
amazing artist, check him out --> here <--

I would now start to flame a bit about a contest i just entered, but can't talk about it till the voting is over... I sort of have regrets right now. >.<
I do better than last time but my position is going down by the hour,
i should have known that.

I couldn't really decide which one i should show you today,
that's why i posted another one here in the blog.
Looks like i'm finally getting somewhere now with this project,
but i wish i had 1 or 2 studio-lights, i still only have a reading light.

Yesterdays subject was the backside of a old CPU.
I have to agree with those of you that said that a different angle would be nice,
i think i will re-do this one some day.

Day 1.

One of the worst pictures i have ever shown,
but i still have that terrible cold,
and i just started to recover
from the last 2 very disappointing days...
(I missed the fireworks and stuff. :( )
